Getting Started

Your account

Soliloquest is in early access — sign-ups are invite-only. Once you’re on the list:

  1. Sign up with an email, password (8+ characters), and a display name.
  2. Verify your email. We send a confirmation link; your account can’t sign in until you click it. If the link expires, the sign-in screen offers Resend verification email.
  3. Sign in. Sessions persist in your browser; Sign out lives under Settings → Account.

Forgot your password? Forgot password? on the sign-in screen emails you a reset link.

New accounts start with free credits, enough to play your first scenes — see Credits.

First run — How do you want to play?

The very first time you sign in, Soliloquest asks “How do you want to play?” — a one-time setup that turns on the modes you’re interested in. Pick one or more (they’re additive):

  • You tell the story — you drive every beat; Soliloquest scribes and rolls.
  • You and the Storyteller tell the story — the Storyteller leads; you react.
  • The Storyteller tells the story — sit back and watch; step in to nudge.

Continue ▸ finishes setup. What you enable here is just a starting point — the new-campaign wizard only offers the modes you’ve turned on, and you can change the set anytime in Settings → How you play.

The Home screen

Home is your campaign library. On a wide screen it’s a three-pane layout; on a phone it stacks into one column.

  • A library of your campaigns in the center. Each card shows the campaign name, a line about its world, and two tags — its style of play (Mythweave / Vowbound / Delve / Starsworn) and its current mode.
  • Begin a new campaign — opens the new-campaign wizard.
  • Active / Archived — toggles between your active list and the archive.
  • Sort — order by Recent, A–Z, or Created.
  • On each card:
    • 🗄 archives a campaign (it keeps everything; it just leaves the active list). brings it back.
    • 🗑 appears only in the Archived view. Deleting is deliberate and two-step — tap 🗑, then confirm with (or cancel with ). Deletion is permanent: the campaign, its journal, scenes, threads, and cast are all removed.

On a wide screen the left rail also holds the ✦ Soliloquest wordmark (tap it to return Home from anywhere) and your account row, while the right rail links out to these docs and recent updates. Tapping a campaign opens its Play screen.

Settings

Open Settings from your account row (the on the Home left rail, or in the Play screen). It opens as a focused panel — a two-pane layout over a dimmed workspace on desktop, full-screen on a phone — routing to one room per concern:

  • Account — your display name, email, and ⎋ Sign out.
  • Credits & Billing — your balance, buying credit packs, and your history. See Credits.
  • Narration — turn spoken narration on or off, pick a voice, and see what it adds to per-scene cost.
  • Storyteller — choose the AI that runs your stories: Swift (fast and light, the default) or Vivid (richer prose and sharper memory). A richer Storyteller spends credits faster; you can change it anytime, even mid-campaign.
  • How you play — the same mode toggles from first-run setup; enable or disable any (keep at least one on).
  • Appearance — applied instantly and remembered on this device:
    • Themes — Arcane, Nebula, Ember (dark); Parchment, Vellum (light).
    • Fonts — Grimoire (engraved serif), Modern (clean sans), Literary (book serif), Typewriter (monospace).
    • Text size — S, M, L, XL.
    • Reading mode — how the in-play journal reads: Paged (the default — turn each beat like a page, with illustrations lifted onto their own page so they never bury the prose) or Scroll (one continuous transcript). Unlike the settings above, this syncs across your devices and takes effect the next time you open a game.
